The Upper Zambezi canoe trip proposes a very unique opportunity to experience all that the stunning, glistening, charming Upper Zambezi River has to offer. On these trips clients paddle their own canoes, following their qualified and skilled Canoe Guide as he leads the exhilarating way to an unforgettable adventure on the magnificent Zambezi River in Victoria Falls. The trip is spent canoeing – (15kms) – downstream, running small grade one and two rapids, exploring fascinating channels, beautiful bird and intriguing game viewing whilst making their way to the disembarkation point. Routes taken on this unbelievable trip can vary due to logistical, road and weather conditions keeping your complete safety at heart. Each boat seats two clients and is paddled by a professional canoe guide while clients sit back, relax and take in the scenery.
Experience the tranquillity of the magnificent upper Zambezi River above Victoria Falls on any of the half- or full-day canoe trails. The pace is gentle, leisurely and allows time to take in the quiet and calm of the surroundings. There’s always a good chance to spot some unique wildlife on the vast riverbanks such as elephant, buffalo, waterbuck, impala and bush buck. birds like the African Finfoot, Pel’s Fishing Owl and many more and the utter silence from the three man fiberglass canoes allow adventurers to simply glide past the animals, undetected so a better visual is taken in. At least 50 common species of beautiful bird can be seen even in the quiet months.
The short trails run along a 15 to 18 km stretch between the naturally beautiful Zambezi National Park in Zimbabwe and the picturesque Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia. There’s no heavy paddling involved as the current gently assists the steady drift downstream through channels and alongside heavily wooded islands. The rapids are small and at their peak are only classed as grade two, one step up from calm and flat water.
